Chase the Solar Eclipse at 30,000 ft with JSX

JSX flight

Umbraphiles, listen up. Those who just had to Google the definition (it means solar eclipse chaser, by the way), may consider themselves one when they hear what JSX is offering. The premium regional air carrier is running a sweepstake to offer 12 lucky shadow chasers front-row seats on a specialty flight to track the North American total solar eclipse.

Flight 4824 will depart on April 8, 2024 from Dallas from JSX’s dedicated hangar at Dallas-Love Field – Texas is set to be the prime location for totality. The flight will last for two hours, flying the path of totality during its peak shadow casting, before returning back to Dallas.

Those lucky enough to get a seat on board will not only get to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event from 30,000 ft but will also be led by former NASA astronaut and JSX pilot Bill Gregory, who will navigate the solar eclipse with his expert commentary.

Each passenger is guaranteed their own dedicated window seat for the best chance of seeing the total solar eclipse and will receive eclipse viewing glasses to ensure safe solar viewing. Of course, being the world’s only five-star premium airline, JSX passengers will be well looked after during the flight, with solar eclipse-themed cocktails served and complimentary sun protection offered.

“With Dallas taking claim as the biggest city in the path of totality, we are thrilled to make this ultra-premium and rare viewing opportunity a reality via JSX,” says JSX CEO Alex Wilcox. “We’re committed to prioritizing safe, simple, joy-filled flights for all and are ecstatic to be able to provide travelers with the ultimate JSX experience in tandem with this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event.”

In addition to the sweepstakes, the hop-on air carrier is also partnering with Dallas Love Field’s Frontiers of Flight Museum to allow two local Texan children with an interest in STEM to experience the rare spectacle with a guardian.

Umbraphiles can enter the sweepstakes online until March 14, 2024 for a chance to view the solar phenomenon with a guest.
